Module overlaps for Build your own MA courses
Some of the Build your own MA media short courses include content that overlaps. You will not be allowed to undertake courses where the learning outcomes are too similar to courses you have already taken.
Admission tutors will check which other Build your own MA courses you have taken prior to accepting you onto their course.
Overlaps are organised by subject area and course focus. In some cases the subject area and course focus are the same and in other cases there is more than one course focus in the subject area. Either way, the course focus is where the overlaps occur.
Here's an example:
- Within the subject area of multiplatform and convergence, you can do Transmedia Storytelling at Ravensbourne Skillset Media Academy and Developing Cross-Platform Projects at Goldsmiths, University of London Skillset Media Academy, because the course focus differs.
- However, having completed Transmedia Storytelling at Ravensbourne Skillset Media Academy you would be unable to do Cross-Platform Storytelling at Teesside University Skillset Media Academy as the course focus and outcomes overlap so significantly.
