Green Screen Production at Southampton Solent Skillset Media Academy
The recently delivered Green Screen Production course at Southampton Solent Skillset Media Academy was designed to enable participants to address the skills gaps created by advances in digital video production.
Aimed at existing media professionals – producers, directors, designers, developers and video journalists – this course provided participants with the opportunity to advance their knowledge in green screen chroma key, whilst using state-of-the-art TV studio and post-production units.
Like all Build your own MA courses, this course was designed to minimise time away from work and therefore consisted of two days of face-to-face training delivered over consecutive Saturdays, followed by a period of online tuition culminating in the award of 10 postgraduate credits.
The course was designed and delivered by Tony Wade, Senior Lecturer for Southampton Solent University’s Faculty of Technology. Previously Tony has worked as Technical Manager for Location Production at ITV and as a BBC-Accredited Technical Trainer. Tony also regularly provides technical and production training courses for Sky and Arqiva.
Having completed this course, Jonathan Plummer, Head of Production at Solent Productions, and previous film editor at ITV, commented:
